Gourmet Traveller WINE Magazine Dec/Jan 2017

Posted by WineNZ.com. Review by Bob Campbell MW on 21st Jan 2017

Made from 17-year-old vines planted in a single vineyard comprised of two separate soil types: coarse, drought-prone Bannockburn soils and impervious heavy clay soils. Twenty per cent whole bunches were used in the ferment. It is deeply scented with a floral aroma, joined by dark cherry, vanilla, coffee, and spicy oak on the palate. A firmly structured wine with powdery tannins and a pleasantly drying finish suggesting good cellaring potential. Cellar upto 2025.
